Our Vision
Cascadia is one of the most innovative and fastest-growing regions in North America
By 2050, nearly 4 million more people will call this place home—deepening the urgency to tackle challenges like traffic congestion, housing affordability, and climate change.
With more than 15 million annual trips made between major Cascadia cities by car or plane, we need a smarter and faster way forward. High-speed rail is how we turn a growing region into a thriving one—more connected, more livable, and more sustainable for generations to come.
Instead of three hours or longer in stop and go traffic, imagine reliable one-hour trips between Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland.
Imagine new jobs and housing around future stations.
Imagine a cleaner, more connected Cascadia — where opportunity flows across borders, where we preserve the place we love, and where the region we’re proud to call home moves forward together.
This isn’t just visionary — it’s viable
High-speed rail has operated all across the world for decades and a private business is now building high-speed rail from Las Vegas to Southern California.
With initial funding secured for the Cascadia high-speed rail project, public momentum growing, and a broad coalition of leaders behind it—including a Memorandum of Understanding between the governors of Washington and Oregon and the premier of British Columbia—high-speed rail is moving from idea to action.
